Peter has 40 years of experience in commercial risk management including the last 30 years as a founding member and a member of the executive team of 3 commercial leasing companies:  Lease Partners, Newcourt Financial, and Dell Financial Services.  Prior background includes VP Risk for A-1 Credit Corp's (AIG subsidiary) West Coast commercial vendor leasing businesses.  Peter's experience includes time at U.S. Leasing in the 80's and earlier at Westinghouse Credit Corp.  Peter's responsibilities during his 20 years at DFS included the establishment of a 22 member credit organization and all commercial risk adjudication and portfolio ($3-$4B) management responsibilities for the USA/Canada.  Peter's single signature authority was $30M and his authority spanned across all of DFS' commercial segments from Federal to SMB (small & medium biz).  With annual originations in the $2-3B range, Peter managed his team to industry leading DQ, NCL, CE scores, as well as the best talent retention score. 

 

Secondary responsibilities included liaisons with Dell/DFS syndication/securitization partners, rating agencies and Dell's N30 terms credit organization. He also provided guidance & collaboration in the build-out and launch of the DFS EMEA (Ireland) bank.  Earlier in 1997, Peter collaborated in the build out and introduction to DFS' of its original commercial transactional credit scoring model.  

 

Based on his Silicon Valley expertise, he was asked to lead DFS' entry into New Technology Companies (start-ups), including Facebook, Twitter, and most of the other major start-ups - generally at the pre-IPO stage.  Typically, the credit lines were in the 7-9 figure ranges including an early stage mid 9-figure credit facility to Facebook.
